Winter Local Eating Guide
So we’re in the dead of winter, nothing left to come out of the ground, and still I talk about eating local and seasonal? Fortunately most of the fall harvest keeps throughout the winter. Since we don’t all have cold storage in some corner of our apartments, farmers are kind enough to store cold-weather produce for us, where we can buy it at farmers markets all winter long (if we’re fortunate to have a market that runs all year). Like this article from the Green Guide talks about, aiming to have a seasonal fruit or veggie with each meal is a great way to keep in touch with the seasons and the earth.
