Align’s E-Newsletter ~ December 2007 Issue

Posted by on January 23, 2008 in Newsletters | 0 comments

Hello everyone! I apologize for not doing a proper newsletter since August! Well there have been some big changes since then (new website, new province) and I am finally starting to get settled down again. Along with the new website format, I’m trying a new format for the newsletter as well – a little more web-based, but still great content. Please let me know if this format is not to your liking, and I’ll keep tweaking. I appreciate all your thoughts on the matter!

o If you are interested in how I am adjusting to my new BC surroundings, click here for my blog ramble on how one really never gets used to looking at the mountains!

o ‘Tis the time for Christmas baking! I’m not quite in to the spirit myself, as I will have to bring all my baking home on the plane, but I did have a friend visit from Vancouver and I made her this Butternut Squash Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting. It would totally make great Christmas cupcakes. Also check out a great directory of natural sweeteners I found on-line – it’s great for definitions and replacement quantities.

o Be sure to check back to Worth Reading on a regular basis. Whenever I come across an interesting article online, I post the link here, so I can pass this great and important information on to you. Like this Mercury Calculator or this article about sustainable agriculture.

News and Noteworthy

o Well, I’m not sure newsworthy it is (depends on the state of your gut I guess), but I will be in Ontario for a few weeks over the holidays, and ‘working’ the week of December 17th-21st. New and existing clients are welcome to schedule an appointment to see me in person during that week. I won’t be back in Ontario for work again until next May at the earliest, so now’s your chance to find out which dietary, lifestyle, and supplementary changes specific to you will help increase your all-over health. Those in Grey Bruce can call 519-270-2794; all others please call 250-451-9208 or email for available times.

o Also available during that week, Lunch ‘n’ Learn and Workplace Seminars. Start your New Year’s Resolution Plan before the holidays, so it’s ready to implement Jan 1.

‘Ange’s presentation on How to Make Good Food Choices and Still Have a Life was a huge hit for our Human Resources department. She is so knowledgeable and has an amazing way of explaining concepts in ways that people can easily understand them. The program was definitely worthwhile and something that folks in our office are still talking about.’ - MW, WLU

o A quick note to existing clients – if you want to stock up on any of your supplements you usually get from me while I’m home, please email me asap so I can have those if for the holidays. Also, for those Detox Students that ordered copies of Hard to Swallow – bad news. The book is out of stock and the publisher does not have any plans to publish another run in the near future. Sorry to say I can’t get it in for you. But I’ll keep an eye out at book stores and sites.

Upcoming events you don’t want to miss!

o December 17th, at Kinexions in Owen Sound, Jackie Hoffman will be teaching an EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) workshop. It’s filling fast, so get in while you can. A great way to make it through a stressful holiday season!

o If you’re looking for a Christmas gift for yourself, maybe Marie Knapp’s Wellness Retreat for High Performers is what you are looking for. May 8–11 2008; I’ll be leading a session in Healthy Eating for the Modern Businesswoman.

o And personally over the week I’m in Owen Sound, I would like to offer some courses and discussion groups, but it totally depends on what you feel like. I was thinking about a Detox Discussion Group (for Detox for Beginners participants or others) on Tuesday the 18th in the afternoon or evening (maybe a potluck?); a Healthy Mom and Baby Workshop on the evening of the 20th, and hopefully throwing in a Holiday Baking Class in there if anyone is interested in hosting. Please email with interest for any of the above so I can set some firm dates and times.

Enjoy your day and your life!

I hope you are taking some time to enjoy the holidays – really enjoy them and not just become a big stress-ball. Take some time to see family and friends, but take some time for you as well. The holidays are not about the biggest gift or the fanciest dinner – it’s about quality time together. (With the whirlwind of traveling my husband and I will be doing, it’s something I need to remember for myself!)

Taking care of your health,

Ange
