I’m here and in one piece
I made it! So here I am, all settled in to my new home in Kelowna. Well, almost settled – we’re still waiting on a couch. But getting there. Along with adjusting to a new province and new town, we’re finding the biggest adjustment is the fact that we now live in a big-C City of many, not a little-c city of few. In Kelowna I now have my choice of health food stores to shop in, can walk to my local bakery, deli, and produce markets, and now live in a place where they actually grow food. The 100 mile diet would be a snap here – lots of varieties of food are grown locally. Not to mention wine, beer, and our favourite goat cheese farm. I’ve also discovered the local farmers markets as well as the organic food co-op where they deliver to your door.

The terrain and geography is enough to convince you to get outside and be active. We’re looking forward to taking up every outdoor sport this season to determine which ones are our favs.
As for business here in Kelowna, I’ve given myself permission to take this time before the holidays to get settled in the house, exploring the city, and doing some quality shopping. I have done a bit of networking and career opportunities look quite promising here – but that’s another adventure for January. I have a week of seminars and consults in Ontario December 17-21 to focus on before I get too gung-ho in Kelowna.
Will keep you posted on my discoveries on a more regular basis now that I’m a little more settled. But you’ll have to excuse me if sometimes it’s hard to sit in front of the computer when you can see the mountains out the window!
